Springtime Asparagus Tart and a Fresh Prawn Pasta

Recently, Austin food stylist Meghan Erwin of Style M.E. Foods and I collaborated together to create some food shots for our portfolios, and this was the result:

The background in the first two pictures is a simple un-sanded wooden 2x2 square from Home Depot with a interior stain on it. 

The white background is the same 2x2 wooden plank that has been painted with watered down white paint to let the natural texture of the wood show through.

Spoons and Spices

These spoons have a funny little story. I found these in an antique store in the small town of Muenster, Texas while Chris and I were on our way to Colorado. If we hadn't got lost along the way, got caught in a rain storm so bad that we had to pull over in the little town of Muenster, right in front of an antique shop, I don't know if I ever would have discovered this great set of spoons. Got to love life's little suprises!
