Food!

So I wanted to switch it up this week for my assignments, and decided to shoot some food. I'm really excited about being able to take the Food class in Nov of this year, but at the same time it just feels so stinkin far away, and I wish I new all the tips and tricks so I could shoot more food while at my time at Brooks. So, since I don't have a food stylist, I swung by Whole Foods and hit up the bakery department, because there deserts already come pre-beautified. And who doesn't love mini cheesecakes?

These were also shot with my new lens :) ! First real shoot with my 24-105mm L ... so far I'm in love. AND I got the 5d back from my bro. Whoop whoop!

I'm pretty happy with them, but let me know what you think!

Know Your Numbers!

Helloooo again. So yet another editorial assignment layout. This time with an analogous color scheme. This article was about knowing your target health numbers. The numbers on her body correspond to the target number you should have for that area....i.e. Tyroid is on the neck, BMI is on the stomach, blood-sugar on the inside of the elbow, etc. The body painting was an interested experience, especially when the pink color you thought was one color turned out to be pepto-bismol pink on the skin. Thank god for hue/sat in photoshop! And thanks to my beautiful roommate/model Natalie for being a trooper.

Enjoy

Make Your Own Luck

I'm in the Advanced Advertising class at Brooks this session, and we had an editorial assignment dealing with text and layout. I found an article called "Make Your Own Luck" in Psychology Today and this was my visual interpretation of it. Hope you like

Senior Portrait Session Final Edits

Finally I have finished the alllll editing for my (successful!) senior portrait shoot I did in Carlsbad, CA over the break. My little sister Makenzie is graduating from High school (Congrats!) and decided why not try my hand at this senior portrait thing. Thanks to my additional models; Charlotte, Megan, Brittnee, and Jordan for being ridiculously good-looking and a joy to shoot! And a BIG shout out to my lovely boyfriend and assistant Chris...without his amazing reflector holding abilities it wouldn't have turned out so well!

PS. This is a HUGE post, lots of pictures, so be forewarned!

I'm really excited about these, please leave feedback!

Senior Portrait Session Sneak Peak!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph my sister, her boyfriend , and some of her other girlfriends for senior portraits. I'm incredibly excited about how these turned out, and can't wait to post them, so I decided to post a teaser until I get all the rest of them edited, then it will be one giant post!
