Spoons and Spices

These spoons have a funny little story. I found these in an antique store in the small town of Muenster, Texas while Chris and I were on our way to Colorado. If we hadn't got lost along the way, got caught in a rain storm so bad that we had to pull over in the little town of Muenster, right in front of an antique shop, I don't know if I ever would have discovered this great set of spoons. Got to love life's little suprises!

Thank you to photogroup austin for making this shoot a success :)

Enjoy,

Springtime Produce

Ever since I started photographing food I've always wanted to photograph radishes that looked like they had just been plucked from the ground.

I woke up with that idea in my head today, and decided to wander into Central Market to see if they had anything inspiring to photograph. As I entered the market, a display of every kind of radish you could ever image greeted me at the door, fresh packed on ice, and still covered in dirt. I thought I was dreaming! I also found a beloved little baby artichoke that is just adorable.

I hope the bright colors of these God given gifts make you smile.

Props: Privet House collection from Target
Produce: Central Market
Styling: Nature + me

 Enjoy. :)

Also in exciting news, this is officially the first photo shoot done at Photogroup Austin! So glad the studio is finally open, and I can't wait to see it take off. If you don't know what I am talking about, check it out here: Photogroup

You also may or may have not noticed but my website is under construction. I'm finally getting a pro livebooks site. It's about time! Should have that up and running in a week or so :)

Pomegranate

Yummy, juicy pomegranates.

I have been wanting to photograph one for a while and finally found one at the store today. It made me think of springtime, even though it is the dead of winter. Hope it makes you think of sunnier days as well.

Enjoy.

Portraits with the new 50mm!

Finally, after pining over this lens for well over a year, I got the 50mm 1.4 for Christmas! Its a great upgrade from my 50mm 1.8 I had throughout photo school. I feel like a big girl now.

I am stoked over how tact sharp this lens is, and I haven't even calibrated it yet! Definitely recommend this lens, especially for the price.

I was dying to try it out so I asked a co-worker of mine to model for me. And below are the results. Thanks Jeanna for letting me photography your lovely self!

Enjoy.
